Authority - Site produced by a reputatable company, with knowledge and credentials
Suitability - Is it suitable for the target audience, age range and abilities
Design - Is it clear, eye-catching, does it engage the reader or frustrate them
Colour - Is colour used appropriately, do colours clash or is it faded and colourless
Images - Images, photographs, drawings, diagrams and illustrations are used to effect
Audio - Is sound used effectively and is it adjustable
Navigation - Is it easy to move around the site and are there links forward and back

It lost a little on use of images. The images are great but very similar, cute solid colour illustrations. Recent research shows that young children develop a better understanding of the meaning of words through viewing recognisable images placed close to text (Fleetwood:2007) or in the case of electronic media 'the audio sound track'. Richard Mayer, 2001, in Multimedia Learning, also insists, that learning is far more effective when images and words are presented simultaneously. I think more use could have been made of photo-quality images here.
